Confirming the sad news announced by our Chairman, Mrs Susan Hockin, at the meeting on 26th March, our friend and former Committee member Bruce Prole recently died following a fall on the ice outside Fordingbridge Tesco Express during the first ‘beast from the east’ bad weather snowfall. Initially, Bruce was thought to be okay, but was later taken to Salisbury Hospital with what transpired to be a serious head injury. (This all coincided with the time that the Skripols were admitted to Salisbury hospital with the ‘Novichok’ nerve agent poisoning).
Bruce was later transferred to the neurology centre at Southampton General Hospital, where he underwent an operation to reduce pressure in his head. Sadly, his condition continued to deteriorate, and he did not recover from that injury. A letter of condolence has been sent from the Society to Bruce’s family.
The funeral service for Bruce is arranged at Salisbury Crematorium for Monday 9th April at 12.15pm; afterwards, mourners are invited back to his home at Riverside House, 32 Salisbury Street, Fordingbridge to meet the family.
RIP dear friend.
